What does Prolapsed Uterine Surgery treat?
Uterine prolapse occurs when the uterus slips down into the vagina as a result of weakened pelvic floor muscles. It can happen to women of any age, but postmenopausal women who have had one or more children through a vaginal delivery may be more at risk of uterine prolapse.
Prolapsed uterine repair surgery typically involves laparoscopic surgery. After a small incision is made in the belly, a small camera and instruments are inserted to perform the surgery safely and efficiently.
