Preparing for Your Consultation & Surgery

Important Details About Surgery with Clearpoint Health Network

Clearpoint Health Network is independent surgical provider with 5 locations throughout Canada. In order for us to schedule you for surgery, you must meet the following requirements:

    • Travel: You will be required to travel out of your province for surgery for most procedures*.
      • To take advantage of the private health care options available in Canada, you are required to travel out-of-province for your procedure. You will not be able to have surgery in your home province using Clearpoint Health Network’s private surgery centres.
      • *Cosmetic/plastic surgery, some ENT procedures, and vasectomy reversal do not require travel.
    • Diagnostics: You will need to provide diagnostic report(s) before the consultation with your surgeon.
    • If you are able to provide us with your diagnostic report(s) and image(s) shortly after your call with one of our healthcare advisors, we can arrange your consultation with a surgeon within 1-2 weeks’ time.
    • Payment: You will need to privately pay for this procedure and cover your travel costs.
      • Clearpoint Health Network offers financing options for those who need assistance covering the cost of treatment.
    • COVID-19: You will be tested for COVID-19 before having surgery.
        • To keep you and our providers healthy, our facilities are requiring COVID testing prior to surgery.

Before Your Consultation

After you request a consultation for surgery at one of Clearpoint Health Network’s surgery centres, our team of patient care coordinators will reach out to you for more information and to understand your needs. Before they can schedule your consultation with a surgeon, we require you to provide copies of your medical records. Our team will send you a list of the necessary paperwork via e-mail.

Steps to Prep for Your Consultation & Surgery:

  1. Obtain the required medical documentation listed in our email correspondence to you.
  2. Forward your medical documentation to your patient coordinator. She will then schedule your consultation with the surgeon.
  3. During your consultation, you can ask the surgeon any medical questions you may have regarding your procedure and determine if you would like to proceed with surgery.
  4. The coordinator will contact you to schedule you in for surgery and address any last-minute questions followed by a surgical confirmation email.
