Why choose breast augmentation surgery?

Breast augmentation surgery is ideal for women who have lost breast volume after pregnancy, feel their breasts are too small, need reconstruction after other breast surgeries, or want to achieve better breast symmetry. Before deciding to undergo breast augmentation, it’s important to consider and discuss your expectations with your plastic surgeon.

Alternatively, many women choose breast lift surgery (mastopexy) to give their breasts a more youthful look.

Breast augmentation results

You can expect to feel more confident and comfortable with the size, shape, and feel of your breasts. Despite some initial swelling, you’ll see the beautiful, natural results immediately after the surgery. Curious about your possible results?  Many of our surgeons use 3D simulation modeling.

What to expect during breast augmentation?

First, you will have a consultation with our experienced, board-certified plastic surgeon to discuss your goals and expectations and to confirm that you are a good candidate for breast augmentation. There are multiple techniques for breast augmentation that will be reviewed at the time of your consultation with the plastic surgeon.

The procedure takes one hour under general anaesthesia, allowing you to return home on the same day. A breast lift may be performed in conjunction with breast augmentation.

Incisions are made to keep scars as inconspicuous as possible, in the breast crease, around the nipple, or in the armpit. Breast tissue and skin are lifted to create a pocket for each implant. The breast implant may be inserted directly under the breast tissue or beneath the chest wall muscle. After surgery, breasts appear fuller and more natural in tone and contour. Scars will fade with time.

Breast augmentation recovery

You can expect approximately one week of recovery time, which will include some swelling and tenderness. You will need to wear a special support bra for several weeks after the procedure to ensure optimal implant positioning. You should also avoid heavy lifting for at least three weeks post-surgery.

What kind of breast implants do you use?

We use only the highest quality breast implants from trusted medical brands including Allergan®, Ideal®, and Mentor®. Your surgeon will help you to choose the right implant for your needs and desired results.

  • Lost breast size after pregnancy, nursing or weight loss
  • Sagging breasts (performed in conjunction with mastopexy)
